Our Mission

Our purpose is to serve area veterinarians and their clients by providing high-quality, progressive emergency veterinary care to their small animal patients during non-business hours. We are also fully prepared to provide  quality after-hours care to area hospitalized/critical care veterinary patients.

In the face of emergencies spanning from viral infections to vehicular trauma, the veterinarians and staff at FSAEC are ready at all hours to care for River Valley area pets. Each case is treated in the order it enters the hospital. However, critical patients are always promptly triaged to the treatment area for immediate care.

Emergency Veterinary Medicine is a very specialized field. Our staff and DVMs are members of the Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Society and attend yearly training courses. Several members of our support staff are certified by the American Red Cross in Pet First Aid and CPR and practice manager, Melissa R. is a certified Human and Animal CPR, First Aid and AED instructor. For information on pet first aid and CPR courses for pet owners contact your local American Red Cross or FSAEC.

From the smallest to the largest, the best quality of care is given to each individual patient, even if TLC is the only medicine needed. VA's Chelsea and Liz pose with resident blood donor Emme after an early Spring rush. Though warmer weather seems to stimulate emergency visits, we are here year round to meet the need's of area pet owners.
