Tour Our Hospital
We are very proud of our fully equipped veterinary emergency hospital. We provide services in the area of examinations/consultations, treatment of trauma and shock, laboratory diagnostics, radiology, anesthesia, surgery, and ongoing critical care as well as giving old fashioned TLC to our patients and owners in the River Valley area. The Fort Smith AEC provides up-to-date care for your pets. Our quality of work is applied to every aspect of our organization - including the training and experience of our professional staff / personnel and our overall veterinary facility. We will strive to offer the most current treatments and compassionate care to each and every single pet that we treat.
We know that your pet is not just a pet…they are a member of your family!

From toxin ingestion to trauma, our staff is ready when you need us.
Shareholder, Dr. David Blount prepares to administer an antidote to a patient
that ingested his owner's medication.

Emergency situations demand that our veterinary assistants be ready and able to assess
the situation and work fast to provide critical care support. VA Mandy H. provides emergency
oxygen to this injured dog while the DVM starts pain management.

Our radiology area is well equipped with an emergency oxygen delivery system should a patient need supportive breathing treatment while having diagnostic x-rays performed. All our diagnostic lab work is done in house in order to provide immediate critical care to our patients.
Dr Jerrod English completes a successful surgery while an assistant waits to transport the patient to recovery. We perform all types of emergency surgeries from c-sections to laceration repairs all while monitoring your pet with state of the art equipment. Your pet's safety is our utmost concern.
Receptionist Team Leader Lindsay prepares a patient for transport to its regular veterinarian for continued care. Our hospital is open nights, weekends, and holidays for critical and emergency care. We are here for you and your pet when area veterinarians are closed.

Continuing education is very important at FSAEC. VA Team Leader Terra L. participated in practice management and technical skill seminars while attending the Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Symposium in New Orleans this September. Our DVMs and support staff members are required to attend continuing education seminars in order to keep their skills sharp and stay on top of the every changing face of emergency and critical care.
